How Of Record handles information about the people who use it, and about the people named in its reports. Updated 25 October 2026.
Of Record is run by its founders in the United Arab Emirates and is in a closed pilot. The operating company's name, licence and registered address will be published here before searches are offered to the public. For anything on this page, use the request form; we reply by email within 30 days.
If you use Of Record to search
- What we keep: your email address, the brief you give us (typed, spoken or from a job description you attach), the private links we send you (we store only a fingerprint of each link, never the link itself), the decisions you make on candidates, and the report we deliver.
- Voice: when you speak a brief, the audio is streamed to ElevenLabs to turn it into text. We keep the text, not the recording.
- AI: your brief is processed by Anthropic’s Claude models, through Vercel, to write up the brief and to run the research. Anthropic does not train its models on data sent through its commercial service.
- Network address: used briefly to limit abuse, for example how many briefs one address can send in an hour.
- Why: to run the search you asked for, send you its results and let you work with them.
If you are named in a report
Of Record researches people who may fit a role a client is hiring for, and writes a short, sourced account of why. If you are reading this because you were named, this is what that means.
- Where it comes from: professional information that is already public, such as employer and regulator websites, company filings, news, conference pages and your own published profiles. We check that a public profile address exists; we do not sign in to LinkedIn or copy its pages.
- What it covers: your name, current and past roles and employers, education, and public facts relevant to the role, each with a link to its source. We do not collect your contact details, and we do not look for health, religion, family or other private matters.
- Who sees it: only the client who asked for that search, in a private report. We do not publish profiles or sell them.
- Decisions: a report is research for a person to read. It decides nothing about you; the hiring decision, and any approach to you, is the client’s.
- Your choices: you can ask us to leave you out of future reports, to send you what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Use the request form. Once we have checked the request is genuine, usually within a few days, new searches leave you out, and we reply within 30 days.
Who processes it, and where
These providers hold or process data for us, mostly in the United States, so your information leaves the UAE:
- Vercel: hosting, the research sandbox and access to AI models
- Neon: the database
- Resend: email
- Anthropic: the AI models that write up briefs and run the research
- ElevenLabs: speech to text, only when you speak a brief
How long we keep it
Searches and their reports are kept until the client asks us to delete them, or until a person named in a report asks us to remove them. During the pilot our team deletes on request. We will set a fixed retention period before searches are offered to the public, and publish it here.
Cookies and your browser
We use no advertising or analytics cookies. Searches you save on the sample pages are kept in your own browser. One cookie is set only for our staff, to open the operator pages.

We update this page when what we do changes, and change the date at the top.
